Cupcake Addiction

War Heats Up in United States

Posted on: June 28, 2010

The War in Afghanistan has proved to be the longest war the Americans have ever been involved in. Currently, we’re in our 104th month of U.S. military engagement in Afghanistan.

With the continuation of the War in Afghanistan, it is no surprise that the U.S. is preheating its ovens to cook something up. To lighten the mood, let me fill you in on a new war developing. It is called Cupcake Wars, and it airs on the Food Network.

Every week, four cupcake connoisseurs from famous bakeries around the U.S. compete in challenges based on taste and presentation. In the last episode I watched, the final goal was to bake 1,000 cupcakes in two hours to fit the theme of “Hot Singles in Hollywood.”  I don’t know how they did it! It takes me an hour just to make 24 cupcakes. Let’s see, 1,000 divided by 24 equals approximately 42. So, it would’ve taken me 42 hours to finish that challenge. Sign me up!

Surprisingly, a girl named Chloe who just opened up her cupcake shop in the past year, won the challenge. And, every cupcake Chloe makes is Vegan! She made a raspberry Tiramisu cupcake which looked unbelievable.

If you are a cupcake addict like me, this is your show! Watch it Tuesdays at 9pm/8c on the Food Network.

They also replay it on Sunday at 6:00.

I’ve actually been watching it Sunday at 11pm. I guess they replay it at many different times.
